The site

CIMARQ is a Centre for Marine Biology Research that belongs to Universidad Andres Bello. It is located in the ruins of an old whaler (ballenera) in the picturesque fishing villa of Quintay. In January the temperatures are high, but it could become slightly cool at night.

Quintay is located at 122 Km from Santiago. Transportation will be arranged for all students from Santiago (downtown) to Quintay.

Visa

Visa may be required for certain citizens for entry into how long to take effect Chile. To avoid last minute problems please check in advance with your closest Chilean consulate about need and procedure.

Electricity

Electricity in Chile is 220 V, 50 cycles. Please make sure your laptop and other equipment has an auto volt transformer. If not, you will need to purchase a traveler’s voltage converter/transformer.
